We stayed in the waist-deep area together and had a great time! Keep your kids close at all times because the pool gets busy and the waves can get taller than the kids realize they can. Then of course there is the huge wave pool! You can rent rafts to ride the waves here or simply jump & splash in the water like my son and I did. Note that the Tsunami and SkyFlyer Zipline are an additional fee not included in your regular admission price. Don’t miss the SkyFlyer Zipline – a permanent indoor zipline that soars across the waterpark. ![]() I don’t have the coordination for this but it was fun to watch other people try it. WORLD WATERPARK SLIDEAS FREEFor the ultimate adventure seeker, check out the Sky Screamer Extreme – you basically stand in a tube at the top, listen to a quick countdown, then the floor comes out from underneath you as you plummet down a vertical free fall! Test out those surfing skills in the Tsunami – a simulated surfing attraction. There are plenty of waterslides for all types of adventure seekers. For the toddlers & preschoolers, don’t miss the Dolphin Kiddie Pool area. There’s also a zero depth splash pad area for the really little kids to play in. This play structure is for kids over 40″ tall but adults are welcome to go in there with the kids as well. ![]() In Carribean Cove – a large multi-level play structure for kids – there were a couple of waterslides that he could do on his own too. I was surprised that he was going down it all by himself! We sat in the two-person raft for several trips down the Sun Runner together. I’d walk him up to the top, I’d go down first, then I’d wait for him at the bottom of the slide. After a couple of times down Caribbean Cruiser with me, he was ready to do that one on his own. There are a couple that you are allowed to go down together on – the Caribbean Cruiser and the Sun Runner (you use rafts on this one) – so that got him used to the waterslide experience. There are also staff members at the top of each slide so there’s always someone to ask if you aren’t sure. To my surprise, he was going down some of the “big boy” waterslides all by himself! The slides are all categorized for ages, heights and ability levels so you know which ones are appropriate for your kids. My son loves the splash pads around our city but he’s not a fan of the toddler waterslides at our local pool so I wasn’t sure how he’d do on the waterslides at the World Waterpark. I didn’t think he’d try any of the waterslides but he did and he loved them! With a kiddie pool, multi-level play structure and the huge wave pool, I knew there’d be plenty for him to enjoy. My son loves the pool so I knew he’d be excited to visit the World Waterpark in West Edmonton Mall. ![]()
